About Byrd-Watson

In 1974, a retail store and Pharmacy at Times Square Mall in Mount Vernon opened. Dedicated to the community and the health of those he cared for, Ed Breeze and his wife Brenda started Byrd-Watson Drug Co.

Over 40 years later, Adam and Melynda Breeze still hold to the company’s original vision while always adapting for our patients. At Byrd-Watson, we strive to meet the pledge of our Health Mart partners – caring for you and about you – by providing quality pharmacy and medical equipment services, and supporting the development and wellbeing of our Southern Illinois community.

Our mid-town Pharmacy on Broadway serves hundreds of people every day with prescription and over-the-counter drugs, care consultations, and compliance services all designed with a focus on patient health and convenience. Our Downtown showroom and retail location located on Main Street provides medical equipment like lift chairs and lifts, as well as full lines of scrubs, white coats, shoes for work and play, and accessories like Very Bradley handbags.

But we’re not just business. We are here for our community. Our staff contributes to local civic organizations like the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Corporation, local school boards and volunteer efforts, religious groups providing charitable services, military support organizations to honor those who serve our country, and other beneficial programs. As a company, we support and sponsor the healthcare community through hospital auxiliaries and community arts programs through Cedarhurst Center for the Arts. We raise our families in Mount Vernon, enjoy our friends in Jefferson County, and live our lives in Southern Illinois. We are proud to call this our home and want to support those who live here.
